Tao Bible - Psalm 130:3-4

If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
~ King James version ~

Often the hardest act of all is to forgive oneself.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
The writer suggests that each one of is flawed and it is only through God's forgiveness that we may be absolved.

From time to time, each of us strays from our path. When we create disharmony in our own lives and that of others, we too often look to external sources for absolution. While seeking the forgiveness of others can be difficult, too often it is easier than forgiving ourselves.

  1. I am much enjoying this juxtaposition, one I have thought of for quite awhile. Truth is a golden thread woven through many traditions, I believe. I enjoy the books Jesus and Lao Tzu: The Parallel Saying and Damascene's Christ the Eternal Tao. Your Tao Bible index page is a wonderful resource, thanks for your work.
