Tao Bible - Psalm 73:3

For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
~ King James version ~

Envy is born of desire.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
The writer makes mention of the human tendency to look at what we perceive others possess and to be envious of them.

Why do we focus on externalities? Why do we compete with our perceptions of others? If all derives from one source, we each are tethered by the same yoke.
