The Simple Way, Part 74

The Simple Way
The Life & Teachings of Zhouzi
by Scott Bradley

When word reached Zhouzi that the community would be disbanded on the marrow, he called the monks together and addressed them saying, “Tomorrow this community will be scattered upon the four winds and my heart overflows in thankfulness. For though nothing that happens is either great or small, there are some that would cast us ever more firmly into the lap of the Tao. So to you who fear you have something to lose, I invite you now to vanish into the Vastness where all is sustained. Remember the dandelion! Dispersion is likewise a fulfillment. So let us surrender together into the Vastness, thankful in all things. Let us follow along with whatever happens, letting the wind of change take us wherever it will. Let us flow with the ever-transforming and root ourselves there.”
