In Common

While performing my near daily search of blogs discussing or related to Taoism -- I often use the IceRocket Blog Search Engine -- I came across "Lessons for Life ~ The Golden Rule" on a blog that originates from Atlanta, GA. In said post, blogger Todd Dobson states,
"It is no mistake that almost every religion and most organized ideologies, such as Buddhism, have a similar saying; “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.

This phrase is known by many as the “Golden Rule,” and it says something that Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Taoism, Ancient Greek philosophy, Wiccan and even Paganism all have similar phrases."
While it's all too easy to highlight the differences between belief systems -- as you know, I'm GOOD at that -- it is important that we remind ourselves that most religions, ideologies and philosophies share much in common.

Besides the Golden Rule, most systems promote justice, peace, understanding and trust. So, regardless of the label you (or others) attach to yourself, if you believe in these core concepts, you are my sister or my brother.
