Line by Line - Verse 51, Line 8

Thus it is that the Tao produces (all things),
~ James Legge translation, from The Sacred Books of the East, 1891 ~

Therefore all things arise from Tao.
~ Gia-fu Feng and Jane English translation, published by Vintage Books, 1989 ~

Thus Tao produces them
~ Derek Lin translation, from Tao Te Ching: Annotated & Explained, published by SkyLight Paths, 2006 ~

Tao gives life to all things,
~ Ron Hogan rendition, from Beatrice.com, 2004 ~
It is when we come to accept that life becomes death and death becomes life that we realize everything is bound up in the same thing. The perpetual cycle of one into another should tell us that all things arise from this same process.
