All things are produced by the Tao,

Something is responsible for life. We don't know and probably will never know what this something is. It is here when each life form is born and it remains when each life form dies. It is perpetual.

People like Lao Tzu called this mysterious something, Tao. That isn't the something's true name or identity, that's just what some call it.
