In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. For all of our planning and calculations, we never know what lies around the next bend. A person could lead a life of Supreme Virtue and yet a rock could fall from the sky to squash us. This uncertainty, however, provides no excuse for living a life apart from the Way. Embracing Tao is its own just reward.
