The Judeo-Christian God has been depicted to be almighty, all-knowing, and all-powerful. So, one would think that, if God was on the case, we could be confident that he would leave no stone unturned. I mean, if he became angry with someone or something and decided to obliterate it, it would disappear from the face of the earth. Right?

Hmm.

And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.If the all-powerful God destroyed the other deities BEFORE the Israelites showed up on the scene, how could they go "a whoring" after that which is no longer there?
Hmm.
