Taoists endeavor to follow the metaphor of water. Water always seeks the low places and from there nurtures all. Instead of seeking power, fame and greatness, Taoists accept simplicity and humility.

I just wanted to say Happy Birthday!! I hope your foot is healing and that the impending shoulder surgery isn't weighing too heavily. Hope also that you are surviving our blustery Washington weather which I suspect is much worse where you are than here on Vashon. Have a great birthday!
ReplyDeleteThe shoulder surgery has been put off until spring. Winters here (as I know you're aware) can bring a lot of iffy weather. We have loads of mudslides and severe storms. Those factors can make it difficult and, at times, impossible to get to appointments -- particularly important for follow up care.
ReplyDeleteIt's not blowing that much today, but, as of 9am, we ALREADY have picked up more than 2" of rain. High tide this afternoon will cause a lot of low level flooding.
