Tao Bible - Deuteronomy 20:16

But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth
~ King James version ~

Peace, not war, is the way of Tao.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
Moses tells the people that they should slaughter all the people (and their animals) of those nations who worship other gods.

Several Taoist writers have noted that war always represents a failure in following the ways of Tao. Lao Tzu reminds us that "A good winner is not vengeful."

Rubbing out those you have defeated is the seed of resentment in the vanquished and the seed of self-righteousness in the victors. Both are roadblocks to virtue.
