I tend not to utilize the space on this blog for scathing critiques of TV commercials, but I'm going to do just that right now. First, here's the ad in question:
It's obvious that the characters in this ad are presented in an anthropomorphic manner. We see the rabbits laughing at a snake with a prosthesis, a baby rattle. The snake reacts with embarrassment.
Needless to say, I'm rather confident this situation would not play out in real life as depicted. Notwithstanding the fact that a rattle snake would not have a baby rattle attached to the end of its body, it certainly wouldn't turn away while the first (and later rabbits) rolled on its back laughing. No, the more likely scenario is that the snake would swallow the hysterical bunny!
Hmm. That might change the whole meaning of the ad, don't ya think?
