It's Finally Here

While our temperatures will be nothing like what folks are experiencing in the northeast and across the Atlantic seaboard, summer has f-i-n-a-l-l-y decided to make an appearance in southwest Washington. For today and the rest of the week, highs are expected to be from the low 70s to a possible 90 tomorrow. Not only that, but clear skies will invade our neck of the woods. We will actually get to bask under that big yellow thing that people in the rest of the country continually refer to.

Even though I'm a rain worshiper, this brief respite from general South Bend weather will be nice. Just two days ago, we were struggling to make 60 and it was, of course, raining.

If the predictions come true and the temperature rises for a day or two into the mid to upper 80s, it will be tantamount to the heat wave in the east. You see, we're not use to typical summer weather. So, when it does arrive each year, it's a bit of a shock to the system.

But it will be short lived and, in no time at all, we'll return to our typical summer weather pattern: morning marine layer with occasional sprinkles followed by partly cloudy skies and temps in the mid 60s to low 70s. Perfect weather in my book!
