Daodejing, Verse 50

Daodejing - Other Voices
24/7/365
I would advise you to make your path with the Tao a full time affair, twenty-four hours a day in contemplation of the Tao Te Ching, meditating, and living in step with the Tao. By doing so, one can stay engaged with the Tao at every turn. In this way one should reside in the Tao at all times.

Keep your thoughts within the Tao, let it become the breath that gives life. To paraphrase verse 50 of the Tao Te Ching, by being completely absorbed in your devotion to the path, you shall leave no open ways for the negative forces of the world to enter. There will be no place for it to place its claws, or thrust its horn.

  1. When I met my Tao teacher again recently, he asked me, "Are you always meditating?" I think this is what he meant.
