As is readily apparent, I didn't post as much stuff today as usual. The prime reason for this is that today was hotter than Hades! Since my computer room is on the second floor and heat rises, It felt like an oven each time I came in to check email.
The official high in South Bend was 93 and, at our house, the mercury climbed to 96. Our official high was the same as it was in Abilene, TX; Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Paducah, KY; Pittsburgh, PA; Syracuse, NY; and Tampa, FL. Needless to say, our high rarely matches ANY of those cities!!
Our only saving grace was the fact our humidity was far lower. Tomorrow is supposed to be 5 - 10 degrees cooler and, by this time next week, the highs will only reach the mid 60s.
Still, yesterday was our first day this year over 80 and, of course, today was the first -- hopefully only -- day in which the temp exceeded 90.
It's still hot right now (low 70s), so I think I'm headed downstairs for a cool shower.

You should give us back our weather! The gloom in San Diego has us in the 70s at best -- we're usually warm and sunny this time of year.... we are stuck in some Seattle vortex...
