In the comments section for Wen Tzu - Verse 11, Baroness Radon wrote, "George Carlin on "Saving the Planet" comes to mind. Maybe we are part of the universe's plan to make...plastic?" She then include a link to a Carlin bit on YouTube which is featured below for you to ponder and enjoy.

  1. Carlin is great, very funny, and along with Bill Hicks one of the few comedians who make a strong message.

Less funny but I was reminded of this, ok not funny at all, Allan Watts asked in one book if it were possible that the role of a planet was to become a star, and that our efforts to blow the place up with nuclear power was perhaps the plan.

Maybe not Allan on his best day but an interesting question just like the plastic one of Carlin.

Ok, these work better with humour, maybe Watts was having a bad day :D

  2. It's an interesting question, nonetheless.
