9 O'Clock Weather Report

We are getting nailed by gale and, possibly, hurricane force winds. The trees in the forest behind our house are bending in ways they typically don't and we've already lost a few of 'em. We've received nearly three inches of rain today and some areas are experiencing coastal flooding and heavy beach erosion.

The lights have flickered several times -- like just now -- but we still have power. Best of all, the main thrust of the storm is just now starting to come ashore. This promises to be an interesting night on the southwest Washington coast.
