I don't always agree with him -- though I do far more often than I don't -- but I sometimes think the US would be better off if Bill Maher was president. In my opinion, he's taken the mantle from the late George Carlin to become the comedic social conscience of the current generation.
From my humble perspective, what makes Maher so wonderful is that, while he can get almost anyone to roar in hysterical laughter, like Carlin, he's making many serious points at the same time. He's sort of a modern day Chuang Tzu!!
