Bit by Bit - Chapter 20, Part 19

Confucius said, "Man exists because of Heaven, and Heaven too exists because of Heaven. But man cannot cause Heaven to exist; this is because of [the limitations of] his inborn nature. The sage, calm and placid, embodies change and so comes to his end."

I often reference the Grand Mystery because, regardless of what anyone says, none of us has any idea how or why life came to be...or if it even did! We don't know what causes things or if there is an entity or process that causes anything. We don't even know if life is an illusion, some sort of dream.

When you get right down to it, we really don't know much of anything. We don't even know if there is anything to know.
