What Did God Do Before the Advent of the Internet?

Trey Smith

Lately, I have been seeing a lot of ads on TV for a particular internet dating site: ChristianMingle.com. Hey, it's fine with me if certain Christians only wish to date other Christians. It's their choice, not mine. What I find interesting is the slogan for this website: Find God's Match for You.

I would think that an all-powerful, all-knowing being could get this kind of message to an individual without resorting to the internet. Couldn't God simply write it in a person's heart or leave little notes around the house? Couldn't he simply whisper the name in someone's ear and provide all the necessary contact information?

But the more important question is: What did God do before the advent of the internet? What methods did he utilize to share this kind of important information? If he wasn't able to communicate dating preferences to people, then he should be damn glad a bunch of innovative human thinkers developed this medium for him. If he was able to communicate dating preferences to folks prior to the world wide web, why can't he utilize those same avenues now?
