Most of my wife's relatives live in Arkansas -- the heart of the Bible Belt. To keep in touch with them, Della is on Facebook (not me). While most of the posts and conversations are about typical banal topics, some are quite political. From the perspective of these fundamentalist conservatives, the world, as we know it, is about to come to an end.
Why, you ask.
Barack! Obama!
Yes, if the first black President is reelected, America will cease to function as a nation. We'll sink faster than a pair of cement shoes thrown into a lake.
On the other side of the partisan aisle, the world, as we know it, could come to end.
Why, you ask.
Mitt! Romney!
Yes, if the former Governor of Massachusetts is elected, America will implode on the spot. We'll sink faster than a golden pair of cement shoes thrown into a lake.
Both sides are being melodramatic and hysterical. They sound like screaming meemies.
Regardless of which of the corporate candidates is elected this November, the sun will rise the next day. The world, as we know it, won't end and it will not implode on the spot...though it might be better if it did! ;-)
