Tao Bible - Matthew 10:24

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.
~ King James version ~

If the sage would guide the people, he must serve with humility.
If he would lead them, he must follow behind.
~ from Verse 66 of the Tao Te Ching ~
Christianity is a belief system based on hierarchy; everyone needs to know their proper place!

Taoism, on the other hand, is based on seeming contradictions. For a person to lead, he must follow behind. The sage seeks the low position like waters that pool in a valley. By accepting low, the sage is high. By being humble, the sage exhibits virtue.
