Tao Bible - Matthew 10:14

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
~ King James version ~

He takes care of all things
And abandons nothing.
~ from Verse 27 of the Tao Te Ching ~
Here we find divergent approaches. Jesus instructs his disciples to spread the word, but if people in certain areas aren't open to receiving it, he tells his followers to "shake off the dust from their feet" as a rebuke.

From Lao Tzu's perspective, the sage embodies virtue in everything he says and does. Whether others learn from this model is up to them. How others react or respond makes no difference to how the sage chooses to comport himself.
