By and large, we humans don't seem to learn the lessons of nature around us. Too often, we believe we are above or superior to nature. So, we manipulate situations and variables in an attempt to meet our desires and expectations, then we are dumbfounded when the laws and processes of nature thwart our plans.

You'd think we would get with the program after a while!
