Tao Bible - Matthew 6:24

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
~ King James version ~

Surrender yourself humbly; then you can be trusted to care for all things.
Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for all things.
~ from Verse 13 of the Tao Te Ching ~
One concept that both Jesus and Lao Tzu hold in high esteem is humility. When we are unpretentious, we don't spend all our time and energy promoting ourselves over others. We work for the good of all.
