Ta-Wan
In the western (to lazily use the sweeping generalisation) upbringing, it is taken that 1) names are for things, 2) things exist, 3) things act on things.
When one from this background is introduced to Tao these 3 foundations are not uprooted. I see that acres of print exist for this reason.
