We Are the Barbarians

The U.S. military has been teaching its future leaders that a “total war” against the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims will be necessary to protect America from terrorists, according to documents released [May 10] in a stunning story in Wired's Danger Room.

Among the other chilling assertions in the documents:

• advocating “total war” against the world’s Muslims
• taking war to a civilian population wherever necessary”
• using the lessons of “Hiroshima” to wipe out whole cities at once
• applying “the historical precedents of Dresden, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki” to Islam’s holiest cities, and bringing about “Mecca and Medina['s] destruction.”
• “By conservative estimates,” 10 percent of the world’s Muslims, “a staggering 140 million people … hate everything you stand for and will never coexist with you, unless you submit” to Islam
• International laws protecting civilians in wartime are “no longer relevant”
  

“We have now come to understand that there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam,’” a July 2011 presentation states. “It is therefore time for the United States to make our true intentions clear. This barbaric ideology will no longer be tolerated. Islam must change or we will facilitate its self-destruction.”

At long last, the veil as been ripped off to show the duplicitous lies emanating from our nation's capitol. President after president and congressional leader after congressional leader has told the American people that the so-called "War on Terror" isn't targeted simply at Islam, but evildoers. But this report shreds these assertions.

Basically what we have here is the admission that a nation led by zealot Christians is establishing a modern crusade (or, dare I say, an Americanized jihad) against everything Muslim! Muslims no longer possess civil or human rights, in this warped view. Atrocities can't be committed against these folks wherever they reside because...well...they're Muslims and they deserve it.

For me, the most vulgar part of this revelation concerns the cavalier mention of Hiroshima. The nuclear bombs dropped by the US in WWII on Hiroshima and Nagasaki caused excessive carnage, death, disability and disease. To invoke such imagery in such a casual manner is, in my mind, a war crime in and of itself!

And to think that our leaders call the Muslim zealots barbarians!
