Tao Bible - Matthew 5:3

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
~ King James version ~

Soft and weak overcome hard and strong.
~ from Verse 36 of the Tao Te Ching ~
We are taught that strength and power rule, but as both of the passages above indicate, there is much to be said for softness, weakness and flexibility. Strength/power tends not to bend and so it easily breaks. Softness gives way and has the ability to spring back.
