Tao Bible - Matthew 4:1-4

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward a hungered. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
~ King James version ~

I will walk on the main road and my only fear
will be of straying from it.
Keeping to the main road is easy,
But people love to be sidetracked.
~ from Verse 53 of the Tao Te Ching ~
We humans seem to have a propensity to want to find shortcuts. We desire certain things from life and, if they don't come as quickly or as easily as we expect, the temptation always exists to circumvent the natural process.
