When a person lacks compassion, modesty and humility, they possess what we often call a cold heart. Yes, they may be alive, but their spirit is dead. While they may act as if they have high self-confidence and self-esteem, this is mainly a ruse. It is a projection to cover up the hollowness they feel inside.
