Not desiring to awaken to truth, is to awaken to truth.
Of course this does not mean than the average person is awake to truth: but this is important indeed for the seeker to comprehend.

This seems way more Zen than Tao to me. Taoism stresses self-cultivation as part of spiritual development. (By self-cultivation I do not mean cultivation of the Self but certainly a conscious effort is implied.)
