It snowed most of the morning here and we estimate we received about 9 inches in all. For this part of the country, that's a lot of snow!
But this part of the country is different from the rest in one interesting aspect: the snow doesn't tend to stay around very long. Here it is at 1:00 pm and our temperature has already soared past 40 degrees. So, all the snow that fell over the past 12 hours already is starting to melt. I bet it will be all gone within the next day or two.
By then, we'll return to a more typical January weather pattern: high winds and heavy rain.
