But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.I have highlighted these two passages to illustrate one of the basic differences between the Christian God and Tao. The former is to be exalted because of his ultimate power. He is higher than all other things. He is the absolute pentacle of existence.
~ King James version ~
Water give life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so is like the Tao.
~ from Verse 8 of the Tao Te Ching ~
Tao, on the other hand, has no desire to be exalted. Tao doesn't lord over anything. In a manner of speaking, Tao works in the background. Tao always is present, but doesn't call attention to the Way.
