Pitt State National Champions

Trey Smith

No, don't worry, this won't be turned into a silly sports blog! Football represents a nice diversion, but it's only a game. It won't bring about world peace and end hunger.

My alma mater won this day defeating Wayne State University 35 - 21. It is our football team's 4th national championship since the year of my birth (2 in the NAIA and 2 in the NCAA). This was the first football game this year -- heck, maybe, in the past few years -- that I watched from beginning to end.

While I'm glad my school won, I wasn't planning to jump off a bridge, if they lost. Life is about lessons and there are lessons to be learned in victory and defeat.
