Daily Tao - Impossible to Be Responsible

You have to be carefree, you have to live and laugh!

How can you be responsible for anything? Let's see...

~

Who are you to be responsible?

..I? ..Me?

If I is an idea, an aspect, how can we attach responsibility to it? Only with more ideas.

If contrastingly, and more wisely, we take I as reality, the all, how can we attach responsibility to it?

Neither way can we attach responsibility to the self whether we see self as this abstraction or as the whole.

Jump in the puddle, be fascinated by our trillion forms, detach from the actor, live, love and laugh at the show.

Daily Tao is a reprint from Ta-Wan's blog, Daily Cup of Tao, which offers one post per day for an entire year. You also can read these posts in an ebook.

  1. Responsibility is acted out love. At our best we walk a fine line between meddling and indifference (a wu wei morality, perhaps); but do you not care for the spouse, the child, the pet, to which you have made a commitment, which is accepting some sort of responsibility? You must despise Confucius, to say nothing of Jesus.

  2. How with this idea would there be any room for despising or hatered or any problem of needing to care or love?

It is quite the case that there is loving and there is oneness. Only with separation as your first (and false) assumption can you then walk yourself down the blind alleyway of duality, needing to "decide" to love or hate.

Your question means that the message in this message was missed.

  3. My question may mean the message doesn't make any sense, or there are assumptions I don't accept. I think we are coming from two different places. choll

  4. That "choll"was some random thing...meant nothing.
