Tao Bible - Jeremiah 2:9

Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children's children will I plead.
~ King James version ~

After a bitter quarrel, some resentment must remain.
What can one do about it?
Therefore the sage keeps his half of the bargain
But does not exact his due.
~ from Verse 79 of the Tao Te Ching ~
It seems odd that a being such as God would need to argue his case as if he was involved in a high school debate!

Tao doesn't plead, argue or beg. What is to be gained? Tao simply is and we alone can choose to embrace the Way or not.
