Tao Bible - Isaiah 48:9

For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
~ King James version ~

Therefore the sage knows himself but makes no show,
Has self-respect but is not arrogant.
~ from Verse 72 of the Tao Te Ching ~
Gee, God sounds quite pompous! One would think that a perfect entity would have no desires to display how full of himself he is.

Tao is unassuming and makes no boasts. What purpose would it serve?
