Tao Bible - Isaiah 42:13

The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
~ King James version ~

Weapons are instruments of fear; they are not a wise man's tools.
He uses them only when he has no choice.
Peace and quiet are dear to his heart,
And victory no cause for rejoicing.
~ from Verse 31 of the Tao Te Ching ~
From the many stories in the Old Testament, God is quick to anger, quick to seek vengeance and quick to revel in his ability to cause pain, death and destruction.

Philosophical Taoism teaches that peace is the way and, when violence becomes necessary because of our human failings, it should be utilized no more than is justified for the circumstances and we shouldn't revel in our victories.

  1. Not just philosophical Taoism, the Celestial Masters "preached" the same thing.
