They are because they once were not.
~ Ron Hogan rendition, from Beatrice.com, 2004 ~
While I arrived in this world as a result of a biological process, where or how did the biological process itself come to be? We don't know the answer to that question and probably never will!

In a manner of speaking, one could say it came from nothing. If you believe in the concept of a great void prior to existence, then life sprang from nothingness.

  1. When asked, really asked, how a car moves: wheels, gears, pistons, fuel, dead fish, sun, big bang. Or how any action you see now really can happen: muscle pulls bone, electronic impulse, energy, fuel, plant, sun, big bang... People dig back to this common start point, one where scientists give up as to the cause of. It is the common point of reference, the universal "I give up"

What starts has an end and so all explanations or theories that depend on a start point are provably junk. Materialism and linear time are constructs, that I came from mum and her from her mum and back to the big bang is an impossible materialistic dream of no possible reality.

The illusion of time is the grandest hurdle. The universe did not begin. The void was not the beginning of a material universe, the void is here now. This is the beginning if there were one. The mind begins now, in the void, and constructs the past. It constructs a suposed now. It constructs a future. All unreal. There was no beginning as there is no time as the mind is the one building them.

We are here and Tao. Past and future are constructs.
