It Has Got To Be A Hoax

While much of the nation has been baking for the past month, we have had an absolutely delightful summer here in South Bend! The average high temperature in July was a very pleasant 67 degrees. Compare this with some information I read at WeatherBug.
The dangerous and record-shattering heat rages on across the central and southern Plains and Middle and Lower Mississippi valleys. It will continue to do so through the rest of the week and through the weekend. Long-range computer forecasts show the heat persisting through at least early next week, if not longer.

Temperatures broke an all-time record in Little Rock, Ark., today, reaching 114 degrees. A WeatherBug Live Tracking Station in Greenwood, Ark., climbed to 120 degrees, while Dallas easily clocked its fortieth day of 100-degree heat, and 33rd straight, after climbing to 109 degrees. Nothing is expected to change as the high heat remains into the weekend.
For all those folks out there who are convinced that climate change is nothing more than a hoax, I am sure that all these record highs being set don't faze them in the least. I am also sure the up tick in violent storms and nasty winter weather means little to them either.

By the time most of them figure out that the only hoax is this story of a hoax itself, we will be too far down the road to change direction. At that juncture, many such people will throw up there hands and declare, "It must be God's will!"

  1. We set a record for July. 21 days with highs of 90 or higher. I remember summers without 1 day above 90.

Climate change brings extremes. Count me a believer.
