Tao Bible - Ecclesiastes 6:9

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
~ King James version ~

There is no greater sin than desire,
No greater curse than discontent,
~ from Verse 46 of the Tao Te Ching ~
While there are many, many differences in the perspectives of Christianity and philosophical Taoism, the idea of desire as being the root of our suffering is in agreement.
