Tao Bible - Ecclesiastes 3:1

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
~ King James version ~

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
There is an appropriate time for everything. The trick in life is to determine the appropriate action at the appropriate moment.

For the Christian, this determination is bound up in external rules and rituals. The trick becomes trying to ascertain which rule and which ritual applies to each situation.

For the Taoist, the very act of trying to make such a determination is where we slide off the rails. When we are in touch with the Way, we simply do what is needed when it is needed and no more.
