Most of the continental US is in the grips of an oppressive heat wave. In Kansas City (where my brother lives), they've been flirting with 100 degree temperatures for several days. From Eastern Colorado all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and several points to the north and south as well, heat indexes as high as 120 degrees have been reported.
While most of you have been roasting, today was a picture perfect day on the southwest Washington coast. Our high temperature was a pleasant 68 degrees with a cool northwest breeze and partly cloudy skies. Not too cold. Not too hot. Just right!

Aloha -- We've got 84 at 3:45 p.m.; will be 74 at night. But I have to go to Washington DC next week...a friend tells me today it was 103. Aha -- that's what's wrong with the government--it's got a fever!
