Tao Bible - Proverbs 24:7

Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
~ King James version ~

Fool or sage. We each play both roles.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
As with so many things in the Bible, we continually are presented with either/or propositions. Sharp lines of distinction are drawn and no blurring is allowed.

Wisdom is something we gain by experience. We learn as much -- if not more -- each time we stumble and fall. Wisdom is not a static state -- a perch to ascend to. While we may be sagely in some aspects of life, we remain fools in others.

Throughout our lives, we concurrently are both teachers and students.
