Tao Bible - Proverbs 23:9

Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
~ King James version ~

I am good to people who are good.
I am also good to people who are not good.
~ from Verse 49 of the Tao Te Ching ~
If we didn't speak to fools, there would be nobody to talk to, including ourselves!!

From the perspective of Lao Tzu, we should each treat others fairly, regardless of our judgment of them. While words of wisdom might not be taken as such by the "fool," that's his call, not ours.

If we only provide counsel to those we believe to be wise, then we have proven ourselves to be the fools!
