Tao Bible - Proverbs 20:18

Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
~ King James version ~

War represents a failure to walk the path of Tao.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
If a person spends any time at all reading the Old Testament, you know that the chosen people fought wars at the drop of a hat! Some wars were commenced as punishment from God, but many were fought at his behest. Victory came from God's blessings and defeat illustrated his wrath.

The Taoist sages, on the other hand, believed that war represents a failure of keeping to the Way. They are born of ego-driven desire.

If humans embraced the essence of Tao, war would be obsolete.
