I seem to be read and hear a lot about how Christians and their religious beliefs constantly are being besieged. The way certain fundamentalists see it, the pagan hordes are just about ready to overrun them, to strike down the last vestiges of Christendom.
I don't see it that way at all.
Yesterday, we changed our TV provider from Comcast to DirecTV. The latter offered a less expensive price and far better channel lineup (like BBC America, National Geographic and Investigative Discovery). As I perused the 210 cable channels, I noted that there are TEN (10) that explicitly are Christian channels. There is also one expressly Jewish station. So, the Judeo-Christian perspective is well represented.
Among the myriad of choices, I did not find one channel that is focused exclusively on Buddhist, Hindu, Islam, Pagan or atheist interests. Not one.
So, let's return to our scorecards: Christian - 10, Judaism - 1 and all other belief systems - 0.

Welcome to the wonderful religious world of satellite TV. We have DISH and there are 8-10 religious channels. Most of the Christian channels broadcast similar programs.
