As I am sure we are all aware of, there is a lot of animosity toward Muslims in the US and much of the western world. In New York City and Tennessee, there have been protests about the building of mosques and/or community centers. Several people who others believe are Muslims are not infrequently attacked and beaten. The FBI has been working overtime trying to entrap people they identify as dissident Muslims.
Then there are the Terry Joneses of the world -- people who think burning a Qur'an is meaningful dialogue!!
Just to show how childish some people can be, there is a report from Bossier, Louisiana, that some hate-spewing imbecile smeared pork on the door handles of the local mosque, so that the Muslims entering the building would defile themselves by touching unclean meat!
People who commit such idiotic acts do so anonymously because...well...they are so idiotic. If you want to make a public statement of this sort, a person should have the courage to do so publicly. Doing something like this anonymously is a cowardly act, not to mention that it is despicable too!

I can assure you that here in Guatemala we have mosques and they haven't even got in the news. Christians don't say anything about them, they just let them be. Do we have prejudices against them? Sure, but they are what garbage news channels like CNN feed us, and is not big enough to show the level of hate this radical bigots have. I sometimes wonder how in the world the USA managed to be a first world country when third world countries one up it.
