A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.Both passages echo the common English idiom, You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. It really is a sensible and easy concept to grasp.

Sharp words are forceful and force tends to cause resistance. Why create resistance where none may exist?
