Tao Bible - Proverbs 14:29

He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
~ King James version ~

After a bitter quarrel, some resentment must remain.
What can one do about it?
Therefore the sage keeps his half of the bargain
But does not exact his due.
~ from Verse 79 of the Tao Te Ching ~
For me, though the wording is dissimilar, the sentiment in both verses is about the same.

Anger is derived from our attachment to self and how that self views the world. When we become attached to Tao (or God) solely, we are slow to anger.
