Tao Bible - Proverbs 11:1

A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
~ King James version ~

If you pretend to be in balance, but you really aren't, chances are good you'll teeter over.
~ possible Taoist alternative ~
According to Solomon, God becomes angry with those who don't keep their lives in balance.

For philosophical Taoist, we are less concerned with how the cosmos looks at the situation; it has far more to do with how it impacts us! When we try to feign harmony -- to fool ourselves and/or others -- the gig doesn't last very long as the unbalanced load will cause us internal stress and tension.

I believe this verse was completely mis-interpreted. The "balance" of Proverbs 11:1 is referring to the device used in those days to measure the amount of money used to purchase something. A false weight would be an attempt by a vendor to extract more money from the customer by pretending they are giving him less money than they really are. Thus, it is a form of theft. It's hard to find fault with this verse.
